San Miguel Chapel - Oldest Church in U.S.

Open. See hours. Dating back to the late 1500s, early 1600s, and built upon land that was used as a sacred site dating back to the 1300s, San Miguel Chapel is the oldest recorded sanctified church in the United States. It is the only church in New Mexico that still holds Mass, and offers popular annual events. This amazing chapel is one of the least known, yet most significant historic treasures in the U.S.

New Mexico Museum of Art

Located at the northwest corner of the Plaza. From the Museum’s founding in 1917, Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico have held a special pull for artists. Originally, the building was to become the art gallery of the Museum of New Mexico. The influences of Native American, Hispanic, and European-based cultures created a unique body of work that is the basis of the New Mexico Museum of Art.

Museum of Contemporary Native Arts

Located in the heart of historic Santa Fe, directly accros from the St. Francis Cathedral, MoCNA is the country's only museum for exhibiting, collecting and interpreting the most progressive work of contemporary Native artists. The regularly rotating exhibits feature both well-established and up and coming artists from Native America.
