Dating back to the late 1500s, early 1600s, and built upon land that was used as a sacred site dating back to the 1300s, San Miguel Chapel is the oldest recorded sanctified church in the United States. It is the only church in New Mexico that still holds a Latin Mass and Mass in English, and offers popular annual events. This amazing chapel is one of the least known, yet most significant historic treasures in the U.S.

Located on historic Canyon Road, El Zaguán is a must-stop for visitors in search of the authentic Santa Fe. In 1854, James L. Johnson bucked the standard practice among his fellow merchants of living near to the plaza and purchased a parcel of land along Canyon Road. The building, known as El Zaguán, lives on and carries a fascinating history.
