The Blue Bus provides fare free public transportation services throughout North Central New Mexico. Operated by the North Central Regional Transit District, the Blue Bus services over 10,000 square miles of North Central New Mexico including the counties of Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, and Taos, the Eight Northern Pueblos and the Jicarilla Apache Nation.
Ride the train from Albuquerque to Santa Fe, and back. The one-way ride can take a approximately 1.5 hours from Santa Fe to Albuquerque Downtown. You'll be going through 6 Zones, which means you will pay $10 one-way or get a day pass for $11 to include the return trip. Runs 7 days a week, except certain Holidays. ALTITUDE SICKNESS: While in Santa Fe, due to the adjustment to the high altitude of 7500 feet, experiencing signs of altitude sickness is a possibility for any age group of any physical condition. Here are a few hiking trails and walks close to town. If you brought your best quadruped friend with you, you might want to let them off leash to do some exploring of their own at the Frank S. Ortiz park, a.k.a "The Dog Park." Of course, there are many beautiful on leash spots at our State Parks to let them sniff Santa Fe, while you take in the amazing vistas. There are 19 Pueblos around Northern New Mexico and each observe sacred ceremonial Feast Days and Religious Events. The Native people generously allow respectful outsiders to attend some of these events throughout the year. Please be sure to observe all Pueblo Rules of Etiquette when visiting Native American villages. If you're not sure what the rules are, please inquire at the Tourism Offices for each Pueblo.
