When Santa Feans think about bargain shopping for international folk art, the first thing that comes to mind is the Annual Folk Art Flea.

Whether you’re a folk art fan, an art collector, a student decorating a dorm room, or a home decorator, you’ll find treasures awaiting you at the Flea.

With three years of donations collected, buyers are ensured an even bigger and better selection of folk art. This year, The Flea is moving to a bigger venue to accommodate the three-years’ accumulation of donations - The Santa Fe County Fairgrounds, next to the Chavez Community Center.

ADMISSION & EARLY BIRD ACCESS: Admission is free and parking is plentiful. While admission to the Flea is free, if you’d like to take advantage of Early Bird Shopping, from 9 am – 10 am, you can join the Friends of Folk Art, an organization that conducts a range of programs and events each year for FOFA for members. To join Friends of Folk Art, call 505-216-0829.

DONATIONS: Volunteers from FOFA are collecting donations of international folk art during May. Donation Days are April 6 & 7, and April 20 & 21, from 11 am to 2 pm.  If you are downsizing, redecorating, or moving, and would like to donate items to the Flea, you can bring them to the back parking lot of the Museum of International Folk Art at 706 Camino Lejo. Volunteers will be on hand to provide receipts for your tax-deductible folk art donations.

Proceeds from the Folk Art Flea support the education and exhibition programs of the country’s well-known Museum of International Folk Art through the Museum of New Mexico Foundation, a private 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization.
