Take a day, get out of town, and explore the art, culture and natural beauty of the High Road to Taos. A river of art courses through this back-country between Santa Fe and Taos. Stop and shop at studios of acclaimed weavers, tin-smiths, carvers, potters, painters, and more. Draw inspiration from the hundreds of artists, high desert, mountains, forests, small farms, and tiny Spanish Land Grant villages.

Breathe the fresh air, explore the galleries, and help sustain the rural economy of this charming, centuries-old region. Take some time to visit with artists and artisans in these remote villages. Let them tell you about the relationship art has to life and to the preservation of regional traditions.
Have a bite to eat at restaurants that, alone, are worth the drive. Want to take an extra day? Stay at quaint inns and unique B&Bs along the way.
High Road Artisans, a volunteer-run non-profit organization, also sponsors an annual studio tour the last two weekends of September to support artists and businesses along the High Road to Taos. However, you can take the High Road any time, many of the galleries are open year-round, and, of course, the arts are timeless.
